The “Invisible Children” Meet Wind Turbines

Editor’s note:  The following is a news release from the North American Platform against Windpower (NA-PAW).

.
In a bid to give a voice to the thousands of people who suffer in their health from the vicinity to wind turbines, the North American Platform Against Wind Power (NA-PAW) presents to the public twelve-year-old Jordynn Stom, whose already delicate health is being threatened by a wind farm project.

Jordy will no longer be able to enjoy a normal family life on her parent’s ranch in Kern County, California, where plans are afoot for the construction of an array of wind machines in the vicinity. She is one of the many American children who suffer from disabilities. Her immune system is deficient, and she has Systemic Lupus and Photo-Sensitive Epilepsy. Last Christmas, she had a seizure when camera flashes bombarded Santa at a public event.

So concerned is Jordy, that she has volunteered to become the “NA-PAW’s ambassador of goodwill,” says Sherri Lange, chief executive officer of NA-PAW. “Jordy has good communication skills, and will be travelling around North America delivering speeches, reaching out to other disabled children threatened by wind farms, and to their families.”

There is something very unclean and socially obscene about anything that victimizes children. The political/industrial morons that continue to parrot the “clean energy” lies must be stopped, apprehended, and held to account for this particular institutionalized form of harm. Do everything you can to protect the children.

Parents, YOU MUST BOYCOTT PLACES LIKE THE NEW WOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN FAIRHAVEN, MA, THAT IS NOW LOCATED 1600 FEET FROM THE 1.5 MW WIND TURBINE!

Towns that have cut Faustian deals with developers—FALMOUTH, MA, in particular—are now wrecking the lives of the neighboring turbine families. One youngster tries to escape the incessant vibrations at bedtime by crawling under his bed. Others have made bunkers in their basements, and still others, when it was hopeless to remain, have fled their homes and have become refugees.

Barak, Deval, Ben Downing, Ken Kimmel: What is “clean” about these crimes?

One of the first stops should be Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The Town of Fairhaven and wind turbine contractors have placed two Chinese 1.5 megawatt turbines within hundreds of feet of residential homes, a public bike path and the new proposed Wood Elementary School and the Community Connection, a place where people work with developmental disabilities.

The Town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts is less than twenty miles from Falmouth, Massachusetts and has ten times the population of Falmouth. It is a well-known fact that over 50 residents in Falmouth became ill from the Wind 1 turbine. It is estimated as many as 500 people in Fairhaven will feel the effects of its turbines! Those effects include sleep disorders, ringing of the ears, noise in general and shadow flicker.

The Fairhaven wind turbines are scheduled to start up on Earth Day, April 22. Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment, but in Fairhaven could spell Doomsday for thousands of residents living within thousands of feet of these 400 foot turbines that look like giant upside-down tooth brushes sticking out of a toilet.

The wind turbines are expected to give off infrasound, shadow flicker, ice throw and decrease property values in all the residential locations around these turbines.

The developer of these turbines has already had their first turbine in Charlestown, Massachusetts sink two inches into the ground and still to this day can’t be run at full speed. Questions remain about the installation and foundations of the Fairhaven wind turbines as NO public input was allowed on this project as it was kept “low keyed” and in “Executive Session.”

Fairhaven has the worst setback rules for wind turbines in Massachusetts, and wind turbine contractors have plans for many more turbines in the residential neighborhoods of Fairhaven. Fairhaven could soon look like a scene for the Thunderdome!

Thunderdome was an apocalyptic fiction movie sub-genre of science fiction that is concerned with the end of civilization. Fairhaven!

The Fairhaven wind developer is shooting to be operational by Earth Day on April 22. Gov Patrick is expected to be on hand to celebrate the two monster, 400-foot turbines in the residential neighborhoods of Fairhaven.

The residents of the Tehachapi area have had 100-150 foot turbines at the entrance to our valley for many years. We were good neighbors and so were they.

Now those Tinker Toy-sized windmills are being replaced by 500 foot giant industrial turbines. Suddenly, like a disease, the county is approving thousands of the 500-foot monstrosities all around our many communities, all over our hills and the mountains.

The taxpayers pay for them with subsidies and increased utility bills. They aren’t green. They weigh 336 tons, not counting the cement base which is 50-90 feet deep and 50 feet square. The trees and brush are stripped and freeway-sized roads are put in on once scenic areas. They will NOT come back and restore nature once new sources of REAL energy come along.

Families are losing property value and quality of life with no compensation. Any sick members of society are cast aside.

If you can’t stand the constant flashing, the roaring of the motors (run off the electrical grid) and flashing red lights…move? Take a loss? Become an insomniac?

Let me warn you, it’s all of the above. Welcome to HELL!
