Wind “spin” (New Jersey)

Editor’s note: What you will see, below, is an interesting and clever “point/counterpoint” presentation of wind energy’s proposed future in the coastal town of Union Beach, NJ.
·

The video was made by the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority.  The text superimposed on the video was provided, I gather, by Union Beach residents (and residents of surrounding towns?) who are vigorously opposed to the plan to erect a huge wind turbine in town.

Anyhow, it’s worth watching.  It brings into sharp relief the irreconcilable differences between Big Wind and NIMBY (Next Idiot Might Be You).

Great video! Pay close attention to one guy who quotes 50% savings and another who quotes 25% savings.

True public employees can’t even script a lie correctly.

Way to go Union Beach! Counter propaganda with truth, I always say.

If any developers around the world make a propaganda video, those opposed should do the same thing as in this one. Too many people who are not directly affected by the threat of large industrial windmills buy into the crap the wind industry puts out. They are likely well-meaning—we would all like genuinely cleaner energy—but these turbines do not in any way provide that.

They are a vacuum cleaner hose in the taxpayer’s and homeowner’s walletno matter what nation you live in.

The savings are at most about 3% ($400,000 out of a budget of about $13,000,000).

This machine will split the town, with those close to it having their lives ruined, while others far enough away will think they are getting some savings and will have no sympathy for the others.

Claiming the Atlantic City machines are a good example for this one is simply dishonest.

The Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority has been hiding behind wind industry-supplied documentation that has been thoroughly discredited.

This is potentially a very ugly situation.
