Editor’s note:  The following is quoted verbatim from the Wall St. Journal:

Federal subsidies have spurred the growth of renewable-energy production in recent years, but many of those subsidies are set to expire soon unless Congress acts.

“Supporters say the subsidies will allow renewable technologies to grow enough to become cost-competitive with conventional energy sources—and that their benefits include reduced pollution and decreased dependence on foreign oil.

“Critics want to scale back or eliminate the subsidies, arguing that renewable sources have had decades to get established but still aren’t cost-competitive with conventional energy.

No government money should be ever given to any commercial energy subsidies. Especially not renewables. This should be stopped immediately. We will never achieve efficient alternative energy with government interference.

Only when builders start constructing efficient designs, utilizing insulating materials and incorporating energy producing elements right into the buildings, will we achieve our goals.

I am only a novice, but even I could design a dwelling with a design that is capable of saving more energy than a destructive, inefficient wind turbine can produce.

The charts illustrated in this report indicate the level of public knowledge about facts and truths on renewable power. Our democracy depends on an educated electorate, does it not?

Certainly, but people need to realise that adding Solar to their property is an asset that could improve the long term value of their residence if / when they decide to sell. With the environment the way it is going we are unable to underestimate any system that delivers no cost power at no cost to both the buyer and more importantly the environment!
